Who We Are
We are a group of people from the Bear Valley church of Christ in Denver, Colorado, recognizing a need for young ladies to grow spiritually within an environment that enables them to bond with other girls. Our speakers, counselors and entire staff are all members of the church of Christ connected with Bear Valley.
The camp is funded by the Bear Valley church and is watched over by our elders.
Christy Swackhamer is a Colorado native and attended Harding University. She is a member of Bear Valley church of Christ where she teaches the 4 & 5 year old class and helps direct God’s Precious Daughters - a program for elementary aged girls. She’s been married to Greg Swackhamer for 18 years and has 3 wonderful girls. She is a public school math teacher. She enjoys spending time with her family, having afternoon tea and playing games.

Christy Swackhamer and Melody Sawyers
Melody Sawyers is originally from Greenfield, TN and a graduate of Bear Valley Bible Institute Women’s program in Denver, CO. She was a member at Bear Valley before moving to Martin, TN and is a member of Martin church of Christ. She is married to Corey Sawyers who is the preacher for the Martin church of Christ as well as an instructor for the Bear Valley Bible Institute. She has 3 sons that she homeschools. She loves entertaining people in her home and helping others.
